CONCESSION IN INDIAN RAILWAYS

Sub : Grant of 100% concession to Cancer patients in 3 AC and Sleeper Class.

1. As per extant rules, cancer patients and their escorts are eligible for concession in railway fares for going to (and returning from) recognized Hospitals for treatment and periodic checkup. The element of concession is 75% in 2nd / Sleeper / 3-AC / AC Chair – Car and 50% in 2AC / 1AC.

2. As announced by Hon’ble MR in Budget Speech for 2010-11, it has been decided to enhance the element of concession to cancer patients in 3-AC and Sleeper class from existing 75% to 100%

3. Only single attendant is allowed. Only 25% fare is charged.

FLIGHT CONCESSION TO CANCER PATIENTS

Cancer patients are entitled for 50% concession on the adult basic fare in Economy Class on all sectors operated by Jet Airways. Patients must produce a certificate from a cancer hospital or a cancer institute stating that the cancer patient is required to travel for medical treatment or check-up. The concession is valid for one month only. No concession is given to attendant.
